Guest Blog……Day 3

Today we had Erica Hurley (a tps associate) as our trainer taking us through the skills of coaching this included building rapport, questioning, and both the GROW and SCORE models. What was really useful was the various different exercises that helped put our learning into practice. I especially enjoyed practicing the technique of centering as it was something I had never used before and it is definitely a technique I shall use before starting any future coaching sessions as I found it helped me to concentrate on the task at hand and it actually enabled me to perform better as a coach in my sessions.
I am afraid that today’s blog is a rather short one as I have lots of assessment sheets to complete for all the coaching sessions we led today. I just wanted to leave you all with a quote that came up today;

“The one who listens does the most work not the one who speaks” (Stephen Covey)
